GRAND FINALE COFFEE HOUSE 2024/2025 Season Jun. 27 2025
What a coffee house! A happy, lively group of twenty gathered to share or sit back and be entertained. Someone shared her letter written in 1966 to an old friend. We heard beautiful cowboy poetry, a chapter from an authors book, an introduction from a local authors book and more poetry! Many door prizes were drawn and many happy people. We had a surprise guest named Eli, originally from Salmon Arm but now lives in Vancouver. He shared his slam poetry with us, which was drawn from his life experience. It was amazing how he brought it to life! He has competed nationally and as far away as the Bahamas. He hopes to be back.
We just wanted to share some snap shots of our lovely, successful afternoon.
Have terrific summer and we look forward to our first coffee house of the new season on September 26th.

SWG's 35th Anniversary Party and Coffee House Nov. 22 2024
The Shuswap Writers Group acknowledged a milestone anniversary celebrated at their November Coffee House. Former members coming from Vernon, Blind Bay and Salmon Arm enjoyed looking at the photo display boards and photo album that held past memories of the group.
Pastel coral was the colour theme on tablecloths and streamers while silver center pieces enhanced the many tables throughout. Folks sipped on a variety of beverages while consuming delectables and pieces of a large decorated anniversary cake.
Everyone attending was introduced, some sharing their stories as past members. A surprise thank-you presentation of a glass plaque etched with eloquent wording was made to lifetime member Dorothy Rolin for her many years of dedication to SWG.
A beautiful floral arrangement was also presented to current president Ellie McGaughey for her continued good guidance of the group.
