The Shuswap Writers Group (also known as SWG) is
a non-profit support group that meets twice a month in Salmon Arm BC.
The Group welcomes both published and non published writers.
Our goal as writers is to provide mutual support in a safe, encouraging and
positive environment as we each develop our writing skills and flex our creative muscles. As we explore the poetic world of imagination, individual goals will be respected; where one member may be committed to publish, another member may be writing for their own personal pleasure. All paths are honored.
The SWG hosts monthly coffeehouses on the fourth Friday of every month at
a local establishment. For many years, the SWG has supported the arts community
by sponsoring writing contests, workshops, and public coffeehouses, along with the annual Word on the Lake Writers' Festival. Additionally, the SWG has published six anthologies and has secured a slot to share their work on "Writing Out Loud," a radio program aired on Voice of the Shuswap CKVS - FM 93.7
